The cenotaph of Limnos - Pyramid
The "Cenotaph", or otherwise known as the "Pyramid of Limnos", is a monument, built by the Cossacks, to honor the dead, who died in exile, on the island of Limnos, in harsh living conditions. The story describes how in the construction of this special monument, whose shape is more like a cone, all the Cossacks participated, where small and big each carried a stone and placed a white cross on top. Today the cross does not exist, but from the top of it you can enjoy an amazing view.
It really is a special place that you will discover by crossing the village of Pedino and reaching the end of the Pounta Peninsula.
