The Historical Folklore Museum of Portianou was founded on 1995 is hosted in a traditional building that has been labeled as a listed monument and is a representative sample of the folk architecture of the island of Lemnos.
Through the museum’s exhibitions we connect with the past by learning about the way of life of Limnos’ habitats, such as their daily life, their working activities, their spiritual quests, and their customs.
The exhibitions present to us the way folks used to live in older times, though various expressions of their lifespan such as daily life, working activities, spiritual quests, customs and anything else that governs the circle of human lives.
