Atsiki is a self-sufficient village in close proximity to the airport, in the center of the long flatland of the island, with fertile rural area.
The main activities of the inhabitants include the production of cereals, grapes and livestock products. The main offices of two pastry making workshops that supply the whole island reside here, as well as a refreshment factory.
It offers a lot of shops, tourist accommodations, cafes, restaurants and bars.
The old fountain of the village is particularly interesting. It has a stone look and was built in 1911. Also, the church of Agios Georgios holds a great interest. It was built in 1868 and has the largest Limnos belfry which was built later, in 1968, at the courtyard's entrance of the church.
