A small traditional village populated by 126 inhabitants, approximately 15,5km away from Myrina. It is built in the depths of a ravine, from which it was named after. Visitors will find it out only if they are able to reach the edge of the butte. It is a well-hidden area near Ammothines and the Gomati beach.
The temple of Agios Modestos by the edge of the village was built in 1856 by the inhabitants, dedicated to the protector of the animals. Every year in the 18th of December, his name day, worshipers are gathered from around Limnos, signaling that old customs still survive to a small extent.
In 1824 a castle named “Paleokastro tou Sfouggara” was situated there. Nowadays it is called “Mikro Kasteli” and only some ruins are preserved.
