Geological Park of Faraklou

The region's geological interest will lead your footsteps to this northern part of the island by passing through the village of Propouli.

This is a rocky area where the sea's sudden contact with the hot lava created a natural work of art. The formation and embossing of the golden yellow and reddish rocks give the impression that they have been carved by human hand. Justifiably locals call it Falakro or Fragokefala, as several formations you will encounter have a surprising round head-like shape.
