Platy is located 3.5 km outside of Myrina, on the southwest part of the island. Its picturesque and amphitheatric position makes it a destination with intense tourist activity.
Here you will find everything you need; Rooms to let, hotels, bars, taverns and a beach are in close proximity.
The village took its name thanks to the wide spout of its bay. In the medieval times it was used as a port as it was considered to be a safe anchorage since the surrounding morphology of the bay prevented the sea storms.
During the Turkish occupation the port was named “Pasah-Liman” due to the fact that the ship of the island’s pasha anchored there, along with ships of the ottoman port authority.
