Archaeological Museum of Limnos

The archaeological museum is housed on a two-floor plain building of neoclassical architecture of the 19^th century where the Ottoman command center was once hosted. It is situated at the Romeiko Gialo beach and, along with the prehistoric settlement of Myrina, is a single archaeological site.

The museum hosts findings from all the excavated sites of Lemnos, making it the center of civilization of the area and pole of attraction for a great number of visitors.  The tour of the exhibition presents the historical path and evolution of the island in a chronological order.

After the powerful earthquake of 2014, when the building was heavily damage along with the exhibitions on the second floor, the museum reopened on 2018, although the exhibits of the second floor were not put on display again since it was decided that the museum is in need of renovation with a more modern approach.

From 1 April to 31 October:
Ticket price: Whole: €3, Reduced: €2

The ticket is valid only for the organized Theater site.

Beneficiaries of reduced fares:

(a) people from 6 to 25 years of age in countries outside the European Union.
(b) people over 65 years of age, citizens of other EU Member States and the European Economic Area*.
(c) accompanying parents at the study visits of the first education schools in the EU Member States and the European Economic Area.
(d) accompanying teachers in the study visits of schools and institutions in the first, second and third levels of education in non - EU countries.
