General Hospital - Limnos Health Center
The island's largest health service unit is located in Myrina and its official hospital operation started in 1940 and since 1944, with the help of America’s "IFESTOS" and the Greek Red Cross, equipment was purchased and the Department of Medicine began operating (Pathology, Surgery, Obstetrics, Microbiological and Radiological Laboratory). In 2011, it connected to the General Hospital of Maltese "BOSTANIO" with eighty (80) beds. It has had a voluntary blood bank since 1963 and since 1997, an Artificial Kidney Unit with fifteen (15) beds - dialysis chairs.
The Outpatient Health Care Services of all clinics are located on the ground floor of the former building, except for the Surgical Clinic located on the ground floor of the new third wing. The second wing houses the administrative services. The reception of all emergency and non-emergency cases is located on the ground floor of the new third wing of the Hospital.
HOURS OF OPERATION
The morning service regularly serves external medical and emergency services.
Afternoon and evening service serve emergencies.
