Agios Charalambos of Plaka

The chapel of Agios Charalambos is located on a majestic seaside area, 2km away from the Plaka village. Monastic cells are available for the accommodation of the visitors.

At just 500m away, at the Roussounia place, one can find the holy water, an area with hot springs with radioactive water suitable for spa therapy and mud therapy. The location is inducted into the Spa and Thermal Springs Network of Greece. Visitors are encouraged to go down the little stairs leading to the seaside where the soil is full of clay. This clay can be rubbed on since it has beneficial effects for the human body by relieving from various diseases and hydrating it.

A walk in the area is recommended in the early hours of the evening, as is a stop at the neighboring tavern which is located at the location of older cells of the chapel .The sunset view of Athos Mountain is truly breathtaking.

Of course, pilgrims who wish so can stay in one of the new cells provided by the chapel.
